Abs Diet–Week 3

I’m starting to feel different. I’m so liking the diet plan Abs Diet Week 3. I’m finding it easy and satisfying. We haven’t been eating out a lot, which probably helps. That is one of my downfalls. I was actually proud of myself yesterday. I worked. I hate working on Saturdays. Yet, I came home and worked out as tired as I was. I had upped my weights this week to a challenging weight that left me slightly sore the next day. The increase was about 2 1/2 pounds for 4 of my exercises. When I worked out at the gym, I used their weights which unfortunately don’t include those gradual steps. They have 15 and then 20 pounds. I couldn’t do my 17 1/2 pounds, so I did the 15. It was actually an easy workout because of it.

Now if you want to do a killer ab exercise, try this one. The exercise is done on what they call a cable crossover machine. It looks like something from the playground. You know the one: you hang down and reach across to the next bar to swing across to the other side. With this machine, you use slings to put your arms through and hang down. Next, you lift your legs up to your chest. For oblique work, you twist to the right or left and draw your legs up. Sound easy? No way. I guarantee you’ll feel it the next day. Perhaps an at-home version would be to lie on your back, raise your legs up and then slowly lower them. Ouch!

Next week, I’ll keep up with the increased weight. At the gym, I’ll just go ahead and skip to the next weight up. The following week I’ll be adding another set to my circuit.

Abs Diet–Week 2

I’ve completed the second week on the Abs Diet. To date, I’ve lost 2 pounds. Still 8 pounds away from my goal, but don’t want to get fixated on a number. If I can fit back into those black pants, I’ll be more than satisfied. I do feel skinnier, which is great. The diet has been going well. I like continually fueling the fire. The meals have been satisfying and tasty. If there’s one thing I really have to say that I like especially about the diet is that it’s cheap to eat. The meals are quick and easy to prepare.

I can see that I’m making progress through the workouts. The three workouts are good for my schedule. I actually look forward to them. I’m at the point where I can add weight to a few of the exercises. Since I do the workouts both at home and at the gym, I’m finding the transition easy with the suggested at-home variations. Overall, I’m quite pleased.

My goals for the next week are to keep up with the diet. I’m doing well probably 80-90% of the time. I’ll kick up my workouts a notch. I’m still doing 2 circuits, but in the weeks ahead, I’ll move to 3 sets.

Abs Diet–Week 1

Well, I’ve finished the first week of the Abs Diet. I followed the workout plan pretty much to the letter. I did take an extra rest day because I was so sore after the leg emphasis workout. I’m liking the total body workouts as opposed to the upper body/lower body alternate workouts that I’ve done in the past. The workouts are definitely easier to do at home versus the gym. Going back and forth on machines is tough if the place is crowded.

The diet has gone well too. The focus on the 12 power foods hasn’t been hard. I did end up getting the The Abs Diet 6-Minute Meals for 6-Pack Abs: More Than 150 Great-Tasting Recipes to Melt Away Fat! Abs Diet Week 1 from the library to supplement the menus. While I know that I’m eating healthier and working out more efficiently, I can’t say that I’ve lost weight unfortunately. Mildly disappointed, but I’m going to keep up with it. If anything, I can say that I like it.
