An interesting article appeared in AP news today, stating that . Of course, the fact that the baby boomers are aging contributes to the rising costs, but it a wake up call to do what you can in the interests of your health. Exercise, not only for your heart, but also to keep your bones strong. New research shows that men as well as women need to be concerned about bone density.
The fact remains that you have a choice regarding how you will age. Taking your health and fitness seriously now will benefit you in the long term. Besides, aren’t you worth it?

As I get older, birthdays have evolved to something different. No longer am I looking forward to the presents, though I wouldn’t turn on down. I look more to what can I do for me. How can I make myself happier, more content. I received a nice email from , wishing me happy birthday with their auto email. It had a great message that I’d love to share.
“What matters most in life is often viewed as peripheral to the things that we usually focus on. Passion takes backseat to production, wellness to working, and balance to busyness. The old adage that “life is not a dress rehearsal” is so true, and yet we act the the contrary by putting off what is truly important or indulging in things that are not. On your birthday, stop focusing on your age and start meditating on your life at this exact moment. How can you make it better? During the next year, reshuffle your priorities. Spend more time with family and friends, take care of your body and your health by eating well and exercising regularly, and offer to help those in need. Discover what matters most to you, and make your daily life into a true reflection of those ideas, beliefs, and attitudes.”
After being told so often that there is no way to spot reduce, that no matter how many crunches in bicycle or any other form you do, you couldn’t reduce your belly fat, good news comes from a research study of obese adults. Eating whole grains can target this problem area. The news is encouraging.
I made the transition to whole grains back when I was doing the , which I truly enjoyed, by the way, and have recently revisited. I haven’t bought white bread in ages. It’s brown rice and most recently, barley, at our house.
Refined flour products taste dull and bland to me now. If you’ve been thinking of making a similar change or giving up sweets or reducing fat in your diet, you can do it. And believe me, the day will come when you don’t miss it.
