Barefoot Lifestyle

barefoot thumb Barefoot Lifestyle After reading a great deal about the barefoot lifestyle, I decided to give it a go myself. My first step was purchasing a Kigo shoes.

The premise behind using shoes that replicate the barefoot way of walking is that it is healthier for you. Proponents claim that modern-day footwear ignores thousands of years of evolution. From that perspective, it makes sense. Ill-fitting shoes have certainly caused their share of foot, back, and posture problems.

There’s a certain freedom in ditching shoes or at least feeling as if you did. My experience was very favorable. The shoes felt like I was wearing a pair of aqua socks. The fit is snug and lightweight. Unfortunately, that precludes there use during colder times of the year.

The first few days was a bit of an initiation. While I walk barefoot indoors all the time, it is a different thing to walk barefoot for longer periods of time. Your feet will get tired at first. After getting used to them, they are a joy to walk in. They are so comfortable that I feel as if I’m not wearing anything on my feet.

If you’re thinking about making the move to a barefoot lifestyle, give it a try. It’s a comfortable way to explore your world.
