Maybe it’s a cold, rainy day like here in Minnesota today, and you don’t feel like getting dressed to go out to the store. Or maybe guests dropped in unexpectedly or your husband decided to bring some buddies home for dinner. You have to come up with a recipe–quick. That’s where comes to the rescue.
You list the ingredients you have on hand and RecipePuppy will do the rest. For example, I entered, “chicken, butter, parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, rosemary, thyme.” Recipe Puppy returned over 184,849 recipes from a variety of sources including Cooks.com and AllRecipes.com. A search also suggests other ingredients that you may not have realized you have on hand. My search included suggestions for parsley, mustard, and garlic salt, which I do happen to have too.
The recipes listed include a picture (always appreciated) and ratings. I don’t always put a lot of stock in ratings. We all have different tastes, but if that information is useful to you, it is there.
Okay, you have dinner. What about cocktails? Let be your bartender. The site is all about setting up your home bar, including how to become a bartender, if that’s your calling. It also has a similar too as RecipePuppy called, “In My Bar.”
You select the ingredients you have on hand and WebTender takes over. You can have some fun with this one. The ingredients you select include not just liquors or wines, but spices and mixers. I was intrigued with the list of drinks my 48 ingredients turned up including a Wild Thing and a Big Daddy, neither of which I’ve heard of.
Each drink gives you the proper glass to in which to serve it as well as how to mix it. You can rate recipes or share on Facebook. While not as robust as RecipePuppy, it’s fun if you’re willing to experiment.
