We made a random decision to go on out on the hunt yesterday. It was getting a bit late, but it was light enough. We first made for the we didn’t find last week. As luck would have it, there was one on the same road, but before it. We would have it, someone was parked there, so we preceded down the road for the original quest.
I can see why some may have thought the directions were not great. It really wasn’t at the end of the road. It was a turnoff. Coincidentally, we had been boating near this very spot earlier that day. I was able to get good coverage on my GPSr. We honed in on the published coordinates. Unfortunately, the place was trashed. Seeing as this cache had a history of being muggled, or blundered by non-geocachers, we figured this might be the case again. No joys. Log a DNF–a Did Not Find.
We headed back to the first cache. It was getting close to dusk at this point. We again honed in on the area quickly, but fading light made this geocache elusive too. Not the best of days, but you’ll have that. We did retrieve a to help send on his way. A travel bug is a trackable item that travels cache to cache. Some have a purpose or mission. Others just travel. I have the perfect spot for this one.
