Reduce Stress—Simplify Your Life

August starts out on a great note. It’s time to get control of your life. Welcome to National Simplify your Life Week!

Stress whether real or imagined is a major health and wellness burden. Simplifying your life is one strategy for coping and putting an end to the negative health effects it creates.

There are several ways you can simplify your life and reap the benefits. First, get rid of any unnecessary communication. Opt out of email newsletters you don’t read. Unsubscribe to publications from your college’s alumni organizations begging for donations. Get rid of the things asking for your time.

Next, find ways to streamline tasks in your life. Set up bill pay to put bills out of your mind. Stop mail delivery of bills. Stop newspaper subscriptions for paper you don’t read.

Finally, plan your meals once a week. Then, go shopping—once. Part of the time you waste for meals is in the planning. Do it once a week instead of every night.

It’s easy to simplify your life. Get rid of the extraneous tasks which consume your day. Enjoy your freed time.
