Early in my decision to get fit, I followed a workout plan set out in Wini Linguvic’s book, “”.
The approach is simple. With a focus area in mind, the plan is for four short workouts a week. Each workout is divided into synergy sets, i.e., an exercise with a corresponding stretch. Each set is repeated twice before moving onto the next.
Stretching after an exercise was a new concept to me. Using this approach, I felt less tight and eventually had less post-workout soreness. The workouts were easy to fit into my schedule. I liked the exercises, of course, some more than others.
Since it worked out so well for me, I decided to pick them up again. Fat blasting is my target. For these routines though, I’m going to follow the schedule of core-lower-upper workouts. For my fourth workout, I’m going to do either a Pilates or yoga routine.
Pilates and yoga, while using different methods, each teach mind-breath awareness. Along with stretching, this has been the single best thing I have gotten out of my move for fitness. I’m going to enjoy this return to what worked.
