I began my road to wellness using a balance ball and a
beginning balance ball
workout by Suzanne Deason. Right away, I liked her style, her calm voice.
I long had taken a pass on those hyper workout queens. Sometimes a calm voice
and a pleasant setting such as the shoreline of a tranquil Hawaiian scene can
be just the thing.
I recently revisited this workout. I had moved on to weight training, taking
up running, but with all the stress of work lately I wanted to return to
something relaxing. This was it. Another of her DVDs that I just love is her
AM and PM Yoga. The
routines are gentle, not very long (25 minutes), and leave you with a wonderful
sense of calm. The perfect way to begin and end a day. Again, both routines
are set with a lovely Hawaiian backdrop.
Revisiting both of these DVDs reminded me that in addition to working out
hard, I need to have some gentle, calming routines as a part of my schedule.
