My Abs Are Sore!

I’m not really complaining, but if truth be told, I am sore. I did a relatively easy workout (or so I thought) yesterday. It was my running day. The run was good, very good. Afterwards, I followed up with an abs workout. That’s why I’m sore.

I did the killer exercise, increasing my reps. This is the one, the hanging knee raises. It may not seem like much, but holy moley, the front of my abs are sore, my lats are sore and it hurts to cough. Having said that, it is a very effective exercise and only goes to remind me where I am in my ab strength. I don’t want to be plagued by back pain. I like the balance and coordination I’ve gained from a strong core. I want to build on that. There’s also swimsuit weather coming up. I wore my first bikini in years last year.

I suppose another thing “nice” about the exercise is that it’s something different from crunches. Let’s face it; crunches can be boring at times. This exercise offers a challenge, read: not a beginner exercise.

Well, time for another motrin.
