I’ve always wanted to call myself a runner. It’s like being part of a special club. After trying it for the last week, I realize how true the statement is. It takes willpower, determination, and sweat to be a runner. I signed up for the virtual 5k. It will be my first “race”. I’m not a competitive type. I look upon this more as a challenge for myself, to improve my own time. I did a run/walk yesterday, finishing in 44 minutes. I want to keep track of my progress through this blog.
I had been a bit hesitant about running, afraid to tax my knees, thinking I wasn’t strong enough. After walking regularly for over 1 1/2 years, I thought I was ready. I had reached a plateau and wanted to do something to up my metabolism. Well, here I go!
