Weekly Recipe — Chipotle Chili

chili Weekly Recipe Chipotle ChiliIf you’re like me than you have more than one recipe for chili. In fact, I have several. I’m always on the lookout for a good chili recipe.

Today’s recipe comes from a Minnesota-based family business, Lunds and Byerlys. They are a Minnesota institution. They offer quality products with a good shopping experience. The business also sells its own line of products. Lunds and Byerlys’ Chipotle Chili is one of my favorite recipes.

The chili is of the meat and bean variety, calling for beef and red kidney beans. Though it does have chili powder in it, it relies heavily on chipotle chili powder for its flavor base. Of course, adjust for your taste. That is what makes this chili so unique, with a rich smoky flavor. The recipe does mention specific brands, which in my experience are excellent choices in their product line. What I really like about this recipe though is its fresh, simple ingredients. The result is just as tasty.

The recipe is a good base too. Using buffalo or even ground turkey for the beef makes this a low fat meal. Of course, you’ll want to make a big batch for leftovers the next day. Bon appetit! Photo by serenejournal

There is the vegan alternative, substituting soy crumbles for the meat. With the great seasonings you can’t even tell it’s not real meat.
