This week is Women’s Heart Week, a time to raise awareness about women’s risk for heart disease.
There probably still exists a tendency to think of heart disease as a male issue. Yet, heart disease accounts for one-third of all women deaths worldwide. Surprisingly, women are less likely to stay healthy after a heart attack than men.
This week, think about ways you can reduce your risk. If you are a smoker, stop. If you are sedentary, get off the couch. A sprained ankle can heal. Your heart may not.
